Welcome to Gritch's Creepy Cafe

Welcome to Gritch's Creepy Cafe! Here is our traditional Halloween dinner. On the menu: Pig snouts (mandarine oranges), baked bugs (baked beans), snake guts (jello jigglers), skeleton bones (breadsticks), and mummies (hotdogs wrapped in bread). We drank spider's blood (red punch) and finished the meal with ghost puffs (vanilla ice cream) for dessert. YUM! YUM!

This picture was taken a little later in the meal. As you can see we already had a spill. By the end of the night we would have another.

Brigham and the Holy Ghost

Bodell had her baptism interview at our house. We were all sitting in the living room with her and the Bishop. During one part of the interview the Bishop asked Bodell if she knew who the Holy Ghost was. Brigham immediately got off of my lap and ran out of the room. A second later he returned with this ghost. He was quite proud to show us that he had the "Holy Ghost."

The funny things kids say...

I wish I had some pictures to post from this week, but sadly, I don't! We did have a fun week though. Heather and kirk and Stephanie came into town. We had a big family home evening Halloween party on Saturday at our house (yes, I should have taken pictures.) The kids always love the caldron with dry ice and the cheap Halloween games. I liked Grandma's Navajo tacos- yum!
I have to post some of the funny things that the kids say: Today Brigham wanted to watch tv at Great Grandma's. Shae promptly told him, "If you watch too much tv you will get FAT!"
Some history behind the next funny thing Shae said: We recently lost our little kitten named S'more. The kids LOVED this cat. It has been quite sad. Keeping that in mind you will understand the next story a little better. Although I kind of think that you had to be there for it. I am documenting it so that I have a record of it. Our family frequently plays a game where we ask likes and dislikes and if you like it you raise your hand. For example, "who likes ice cream?" (Everyone raises their hand.) "Who likes to clean their room?" (no one raises their hand).... You get the idea. Well, the other night at dinner Shae started playing this game. The kids had just come in from playing outside. She said, "Who likes the trampoline?" (everyone raised their hand.) Her next question made Josh and I laugh. Shae asked, "Who likes having a pet cat and a pet dog?" then Shae stopped and revised her question, "who likes having a lost cat and a pet dog?" (Shae raised her hand, Bodell had to think about that one.)

FALL FUN!

Bodell's pumpkin. Bodell wanted a big fat pumpkin.

Shae's pumpkin. Shae wanted the tallest pumpkin.

Brigham searched for the perfect sized pumpkin. The girls tried to convince him to get a big pumpkin, but he refused.

We went picking pumpkins with Grandma and Great-grandma. Thanks Jeff for the awesome pumpkins!

The kids had a day off of school for fall break. We decided to have a game night last night. Sydney and Presley played with us. When it was time to go Sydney invited the girls to sleep over. Brigham begged to go too. I told him no. He looked at Sunny with the saddest face and said, "my mom said I can't sleep over." Aunt Sunny was very nice and told Brigham he could come too. How lucky can you be to be able to have a sleep over when you are only two.
The picture above shows our activity from today. The kids wanted to decorate Halloween cookies. I Love Fall!!!!

Drive over the Mountain

We went on a beautiful drive over the mountain with Grandma and Grandpa. Unfortuneately it was FREEZING. However we still had a great time. We ate quickly at our picnic site because we were all too cold.

It is not easy to pose with three kids and a VERY distractable DOG!

Josh and my dad checking out the wildlife. I love this picture.

Can you believe snow?

Bodell's Birthday Party

Who's Ready to Party?

It took us three tries to blow these candles out. All the other kids were so excited to blow out the candles that as soon as we would finish singing "Happy Birthday" someone else would blow out the candles.

Does this look like fun? Bodell had her cousins sleep over for her birthday party. Look at the energy. The amazing thing was this was at 10:30 at night. I am not sure what time they went to bed.

Bodell's Baptism

Bodell in her baptism dress

On Saturday Bodell was baptized. It was fun to have so much family here. We appreciated all the family that came for it. Bodell was very excited. She was pretty quiet during the program. She does not like the spotlight. But, afterward she was all smiles! She had been anxiously waiting to wear her new dress. We are very proud of Bodell's decision to get baptized.

St. George Trip

Well, I have officially joined the blogging community. I think that our blog is not too embarrassing to publish to the world. I thought that I would start by posting our most recent trip. We just returned from St. George. We all had a great time. The kids loved the hotel. They thought the indoor/outdoor pool was amazing. They were so excited to go swimming TWICE in one day. Josh and I thought that we had reached a major milestone in our family's history. The kids went swimming and we didn't have to get in the water. WOW!

Josh did awesome in his fourth marathon. He placed 61st. I thought this was great considering there were over 5000 people that ran it. It was not the typical beautiful St. George weather. It rained the entire race. The announcers said that it hadn't rained during the marathon in 25 years. The kids and I did make it to the finish line this time. Unfortunately the picture is horrible, but it is not easy to juggle a camera, three kids, and an umbrella. Josh can just brag that the picture is so out of focus because he was so fast.

This was one of our summer trips. When Heather was in town we wanted to go on a short road trip, so we drove to monument valley. We ate at Gouldings then drove through Monument Valley.
