Stitches

Yesterday I was feeding Andrew when I heard a loud Thud in my bedroom followed by a loud cry. Bodell ran to see what had happened. She carried Brigham into me crying. When I looked at him there was blood running down his face and a nice gash around his eye. I guess he was trying to reach his balloon that was on the ceiling. He climbed on Josh's nighstand. Fell off and hit his eye on the way down. I immediately called Josh at the clinic and told him I thought we were going to need some stitches. At that point we had to run to take Bodell to piano. We ran into Nicole Ivans, Stephanie Ivans, Danelle Shumway and of course Callie Randall. They all got in the van to see Andrew. Then they saw Brigham. He looked pretty pathetic. I hadn't taken much time to clean him up because we were late. So there he is sitting with a swollen eye, blood still coming out, blood stains on his face and shirt and chocolate all over his face from some pumpkin bread he had eaten just before the accident. All I could do was laugh at the poor child. When Josh came home he stitched him up. I wanted to take pictures of the process, but it took both my arms AND my legs to restrain Brigham so that he wouldn't move while Josh was stitching him around his eye. Brigham was histerical!!! We finally got him sewn back up and now Brigham is quite proud of his stitches. He also has a nice little shiner to go with it.

Poor kid, at least he has something to show for it. When Brett (Candace's oldest) was about Brighams age I was watching him and he got stitches in about the same spot. He still has evidence of the event.

The benefit of having a doctor in the family is you didn't have to take Brigham (and your little family) in to the clinic for the stitches. I can sympathize about having to hold him down. It looks like he survived okay, though. Oh, the joys of motherhood.

Ha ha that is kinda funny, and sounds like Chaos at the same time. And the fact that he was a mess, and you had to run into Callie, Danelle Nicole and Steph. I could imagine what they had to say about it.
good times.brookie

When Ethan was that old, he knocked out a tooth. After putting it back in, it abcessed the next day, so a week later, it got pulled, and I was the one who got bit. I have the scar from that one - the things we moms do!! Nice shiner Brig!

They joys of little boys. Soon I get to find out what that's like. His eye looks good in the picture though. Josh did a good job.

Wow. That is so nice that Josh could just stitch him up. That's awesome! What a cute little guy he is... stitches, shiner and all!

Brigham is so funny. What a little monkey. You should put a patch on his eye so he can look like Josh's picture when he was little with a patch:) j/k
