Andrew Gets His First REAL Haircut

I thought it was time to give Andrew a real haircut so people would know he was a boy. Here is his BEFORE picture.

DURING.... (Andrew did not like the haircut. He hated having the hair fall on him and hated us restraining him. By the time it was over I had cut off about an inch.)

AFTER. (I must admit the before picture is a better picture. By the time we finished the haircut he was not very happy with us so these two pictures were the best I could get.)

Samson, have you lost your strength without your hair?

Sleeping out

The other night we all slept outside. (Well, I should clarify, the kids slept..I don't think I got much sleep that night between the dog, cat and kids.) A couple of nights ago, the kids wanted to sleep in a tent outside by themselves. They were so proud to be on their own. After we finally got the cat to stop attacking the tent, the kids settled down and went to sleep. I was surprised that Brigham was the only one to come in during the night.

Doesn't that look cozy?

Andrew is 5 months

Andrew is now five months. He is still so fun. It is so fun to watch him be more interactive. He loves to be around the kids. He is constantly watching them to see what they are doing. He has mastered rolling over. He moves all over the place in his crib at night. He can sit up now, although he loses his balance after a couple of minutes and falls over. He thinks he is so big when he sits up. He still loves to laugh and becomes more ticklish each day. Andrew hates his cereal. He still likes the attention that he gets when he is eating, but he spits everything out. By the end of his feeding he usually has cereal all over his face, in his hair, on his legs and hands.

4th of July

We had a great time on the fourth of July. We started the day out by Josh and I running the 5k. The girls ran the one mile race.

Here is Bodell coming down the final stretch. Bodell gets better every year.

This was Shae's first mile run. She did a great job!

We all wore our "Summer Fun Club" t-shirts for the race. I am not sure if I would include running 3 miles as "Summer Fun."

Here are all the kids at the parade. Josh's family had a big family reunion on the fourth, so we are all wearing our reunion t-shirts.

Shae and Sage waiting for the candy.

Bodell ready to get out of the heat.

My favorite part of the parades... The WATER TRUCK!

Shae, Bodell and Brigham after the water truck.

Do you feel better now Bodell?

After the parade we headed up to Elk Ridge for the reunion. The kids were very sad to miss the activities at the park, but they still had a great time hanging out with their cousins and playing at the mountain.

Bodell, where are your eyes?

Branding Cows

Andy Black invited Josh to join the crew branding kenny's calves. Josh was excited to get back to his roots. We camped the night before by the old cabin and then helped the next morning. The kids loved camping and roaming the mountain. Bodell did NOT like watching them brand. She thought it looked like they were hurting the cows too much. However, she did like riding the horses.

Yee-Haw!

Our little cowboy.

Bodell's favorite part of the day.

Shae liked the horses too.

Brigham is ready to go!

It is hard to see Brigham's tongue in this little picture. It looks like he is really working this horse.

Too cute.

Andrew is four Months!

Andrew is four months. I can't believe it has been another month. He is growing up so quickly (I think I have said that at every post about him... but it is still true.) He seems to get more and more fun with each passing month. He loves to interact with you. He likes to squeal and make noises with his mouth. He LOVES his hands. They are always in his mouth. I have seen him try and put both fists in his mouth at the same time. He is such a smiley guy. He is also laughing a lot more and is much more ticklish. The girls love to try and make him laugh. He can roll over now from his back to his stomach and is getting a little more coordinated with his reaching. He seems to be regressing on his sleeping. He was a better sleeper at night a couple of months ago, but I can't complain because he is such an easy-going baby during the day.

I liked Erin's idea of taking a picture in just a diaper and with clothes, so I had to copy you Erin.

Andrew started cereal this week. The girls have been counting down until the time they could feed him cereal. Bodell wanted to be the first one. Andrew ate up all the attention he got from eating the cereal, but didn't care too much for the cereal itself.

Andrew and the captivating audience.
