Cottonwood

The girls had lots of parties and field trips the last week of school. Both Bodell and Shae went to cottonwood for one of their field trips. We went with them both times. Unfortunately we had had a dry spring so the water was no longer running, but the kids still had a great time. Brigham especially thought it was great. I am always amazed that Brigham does not get at all intimidated by the big kids. I think he really thinks he belongs with them.

The day that the kindergartners went to cottonwood was Shae's birthday. What a great way to celebrate!

Mom..do I have to pose for one more picture? I am busy working in the dirt here.

Bodell and Shae's blogs

Bodell decided she wanted a blog after seeing her cousin Cole had a blog. Of course then, Shae decided she also needed one. So, we created blogs for each of them. I made them private, but if you want an invite to their blogs leave a comment on this post and I will invite you to their blogs. They are both pretty excited about them. Bodell posted her own pictures and then helped Shae with her posts. They did a great job!

Shae's haircut!

Shae has been begging me to get her haircut like Bodell's. I finally agreed. On her birthday we took her to Holly Shumway to get her haircut.

Before!

During.....

After. (This actually isn't the best picture of her haircut. It turned out very cute -- as you will see in other later posts.)

Camping with Grandma and Grandpa

On May 15th (yes, I know I am behind on my blogging,) we decided to go camping with Grandma and Grandpa. They stayed in their nice camper. We wanted to try out our new tent we received for Christmas. We call it "The Mansion" because it is so much bigger than our old tent. It is so nice to have room to stand. Bodell had just earned the money for a new bike, so we brought the kids' bikes up also. They spent most of Saturday morning riding around on the mountain trails.

Here's Grandma taking care of Andrew. Andrew did great camping. I was a little nervous that he was going to freeze. I think my parents were too, because they kept telling me I could sleep in their camper, but I wanted to sleep with Josh and the kids. It is always fun to see how excited the kids get to sleep in a tent. Andrew slept great through the night. We bundled him up and tucked him in with us and he didn't move a muscle all night.

Don't they look cozy?

Brigham posing on his bike. Brigham LOVES this bike. NO ONE-- and I mean NO ONE touches this Bike but him!

Farm Days 2009

All the elementary kids got to go to Farm days this year at Lyman's farm. This meant that Brigham also went. All the kids loved it! It was quite the production. Brigham's favorite part was the hay ride because it was pulled by a big tractor. Bodell liked seeing the horses and learning about horseshoeing. I am not sure what Shae's favorite part was, but I think that I heard her talk about the Ice cream the most (not surprising.) They all liked holding the baby chicks, rabbits and kittens.

Brigham and Bodell after the hayride. I was chewing on dirt for days after that ride.

ANDREW IS THREE MONTHS!

Can you believe that Andrew is already three months? I can't believe it. He is such a joy to have around. He LOVES to smile. He is starting to grab for objects. He is still very uncordinated, but when a toy is hanging near him, he likes to bat at it. My favorite new trick is his laugh. Andrew can now LAUGH! I don't think there are many sounds better in this world than the sound of a baby's laughter. Andrew decided to start laughing for the first time in the middle of my nephew, Hunter's confirmation. Thanks to Aunt Sunny Andrew started laughing. (I told Sunny that the Navajo tradition says that she has to throw Andrew a big party because she was the first one to make him laugh...she didn't seem to go for it.) Amazingly, Andrew's eyes are still brown. Could we really have a brown-eyed kid...looks that way.

This is Andrew's "Blue Steal" look. Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking? (any Zoolander fans out there?)

Hunter's Baptism

Last week we went to Provo to attend my nephew, Hunter's baptism. Of course we were excited to visit the "BIG CITY!" The kids had a great time playing with their cousins. Brigham was especially excited to see Gunner. From the moment I told him that we were going to stay at Gunner's house, Brigham kept asking when we were leaving. On the drive to Provo Brigham did not want to stop for anything. He said that he had already eaten and did not want to stop for food (that is NOT typical for Brigham!) Gunner and Brigham played hard the entire weekend. It was very cute.

It was our twelve year wedding anniversary while we were there. Josh had arranged with his sister Heather, unknown to me, to have the kids stay at her house while we went out to dinner and stayed at a hotel. It was such a great date. I loved it..especially because I LOVE surprises. love ya Josh-- you're the best. It has been a great TWELVE years.

Hunter's baptism was very nice. It is nice to have these events to bring us together.
